Roopal Kewalya
Roopal Kewalya is a Screenwriter with experience spanning over ten years. She has written for numerous successfully running shows on Channel V, EPIC, Sony Entertainment Television and others.
Roopal is a gold medalist in English Literature from Delhi University and a film direction alumnus from NID (Ahmedabad). Her documentary film Udaan – a film on professional women drivers in Ahmedabad was selected at the IDPA festival in Mumbai in 2007.
She loves to do storytelling performances for children and was associated with Katha Khazana for the same. She was the Mentor for CBSE-Katha Regional Writers Workshop in 2014 and a Mentor for Teachers training workshop at Katha on Film studies.
Her debut novel THE LITTLE RAINMAKER was longlisted as the best among top 20 in the world in Times Chickenhouse competition in London, 2016. Her screenplay for the same book was shortlisted for the NFDC Screenwriter’s lab for 2016.
As a social change maker, Roopal loves to conduct fun workshops for children, adults, corporates and NGOs in gender sensitization, breaking stereotypes and creative thinking.
