This year, Disha will host the first Disha Literature Festival (DLF) as a big step towards nurturing the love of reading in children from preschool to grade school, which will be held on 8th and 9th of February 2019.
The two-day festival will bring authors, artists, parents and children together under one roof and provide an opportunity for our children to engage themselves in interesting reading sessions, story-telling workshops and debates. There will also be a book exhibition on both days of the festival in collaboration with publishing houses. It will be weekend packed with an engagement of books reading and storytelling sessions. The authors will talk about the world of books and its place in children’s life.
With this, DLF will also recognize some young achievers like - Ishita Katyal, the youngest TED speaker, Harsh Songra an entrepreneur and the founder of My Child App, Yash Tiwari, a 16 year old author from Kanpur. The achievers will share their journey of illuminating success in the festival.
DLF aims to motivate young readers to become creative writers of the future and to inspire youngsters to have an inclination towards reading and writing intrinsically to advance their confidence level and success growth. There will be a selection of workshops for children with interactive storytelling sessions by poets, educators and authors from across the globe. This festival will give an opportunity to celebrate different genres and different works of Literature.
There will be panel discussions with established Indian and International authors and thinkers. Debate sessions will also be held to widen the aspect of Reading or Why to read?
This is a platform for young readers, parents, writer and thinkers to immerse in conversations on literature and to help the development of good reading habits in our children to create learners of tomorrow.
