Usha Chhabra

Being a teacher for about 23 years as TGT Hindi, Ms.Usha Chhabra has also authored two separate series of textbooks in Hindi. She has beautifully captured small moments of life in the two books of the series of poetry books with an attached audio CD. Her picture book ‘DUMDUM KI KURSI’ won the second prize in All India Creative Writing Competition and is being published by CBT. Many of her stories also have got published in magazines India and abroad.
She has also conducted Teachers’ Orientation Programmes as Hindi Expert for MCD school teachers as well as many schools across India.
She has taken workshops for children on Creative Writing, Dramatics, Self Esteem, Team work, Time Management and Leadership etc.
She has scripted for stage shows of various Annual Day Programmes of the school as well as for Natya Ballet Centre and NTPC. She wrote the script for a cultural programme in the Vishva Hindi Sammelan held in Bhopal (2015) and in Mauritius (2018).
These days she is actively involved in performance storytelling for children and has taken sessions at various places such as World Book Fair 2019, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, National Museum, National Bal Bhawan, Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, Dilli Haat (INA& Janakpuri) and various NGOs.
She had been a part of Jaipur Literature Festival Outreach Programme, Bhiwani Children Literature Festival, Kanpur Literature Festival, Katha Karnival and Katha Utsav. In this age, where children are glued to electronic devices and are losing interest in reading literature, she picks up stories about animals, fairytales and folk tales which ignite the interest of children in books and as well as acquaint them with our rich literature, culture and heritage.
